Impassive in appearance, he has sky blue eyes and lightly tanned skin; his hip-length, messy hair is coffee brown, and he wears it in one braid. Forgetful and dreamy, he is social and pacifistic.
Past: He lived with his family in a small, rural hold on the northern continent until he was searched. He had never been very sure what to do with his life, and had been experimenting with different crafts before the dragons came. Amiculi smiled to himself as he lay sprawled out on his bed in the candidate barracks. It was a beautiful day outside, and the queen's clutch was due to hatch any day now. A large bronze flitter appeared above him, and Raki crooned before settling down on the boy's stomach.
Amiculi laughed, reaching up to scratch the bronze's eyeridges, but it was cut short as the little fire lizard stood up and began to hum, his throat vibrating. Soon, Amiculi's other fire lizard, a green named Meina, also took up the call, announcing to everyone in the candidate barracks, (That is to say, Amiculi) that Gold Sarabeth's clutch was hatching.
Excitedly, Amiculi stood up, displacing Raki, who hissed in agitation but took up a new perch on the boy's shoulder. Amiculi raced out of the barracks as he threw on the white candidacy robe, making his way throught the crowds to the hatching sands.
Once inside, he met his foster brother, Kenin. He shot a nervous smile at the older boy, who grinned back confidantly, and watched the eggs with an eager expression on his face. "Hey, Amiculi. What do you think you'll Impress?" Kenin asked as they joined the other candidates.
Amiculi shrugged. "I don't know, probably a blue or something." Kenin just smirked at his answer, but the first egg cracked then, and the boys' attention was drawn back to the hatching.
The first two eggs revealed a bronze and a green dragoness with a swirly pattern on her hide. Kenin watched the bronze excitedly, but it chose another young man.
The next two eggs revealed a blue and a bronze-white, who quickly paired off as two more greens and a brown hatched. Kenin frowned, and began to shift his feet impatiently. Amiculi could sympathize with that; the sands underfoot were hot and uncomfortable.
The baby queen hatched from the large gold-tinted egg, and walked gracefully toward her chosen bond. A bronze-brown hatched and bonded next, then there were only three eggs and three candidates left.
The last three eggs all burst open at once, spilling two greens and a swirl-patterned blue onto the sands. Kenin's smile at last wavered. Two greens, and all the candidates left were males. Amiculi didn't seem to care, however. He was too busy listening to his middle-sized green dragon telling him how dreadfully hungry she was, and why didn't he go feed her already and oh, by the way, her name was Fallenath, and why were the sands so hot, and
why wasn't she being taken away to eat?
A'culi laughed and interrupted the dragon before she could continue. "Slow down, Fallenath! If you're that hungry we can go eat now."
Fallenath just replied that of course they could go eat, or why else would she have Impressed him? A'culi didn't answer, just shook his head and held back another laugh as he lead the green away.
