Name: Aitor
Race: Ocelot Darji
Gender: Male
Age: 9
Family:
Parents are dead; several siblings from various litters
Appearance: Large
for his species, Aitor is about 4 feet, 4 inches long, including tail, and
weighs about 30 pounds. His fur is a creamy tan, marked heavily with dark brown
stripes and elongated spots. He has dark eyes.
Personality: Cool and calm,
Aitor is often laidback and lazy. He has a very straightfoward, sensible view of
life and says what he thinks, and it's often not what people like to hear. He is
reclusive, but caring towards others, especially Shirin, and his curiosity is
easily aroused by elves.
Past: Like normal ocelots, Aitor was raised by his
mother and left on his own once he was grown. He lived wild for awhile, but once
he befriended Shirin, he went to live in her home and help her family. Being
close, they decided to bond; though it's fairly weak, Shirin inherits keener
senses and a stronger source of energy for magic, while Aitor developed a sense
for magic and a longer lifespan. They can sense each other's emotions somewhat,
and of course, talk.
Bond: Glowing Rain Dormath
From: Lantessama
Isle
'Darji' is a catch-all term for a sapient animal of any species. They are fairly rare, but on the western continent, are often found dwelling with elves, and the two races are very integrated. They are able to talk mind-to-mind, but elves have developed a method that allows them to form a bond with a single darji. The two beings involved are both affected positively; elves gain the sharper senses of their bond, and are able to draw energy from them as well as themselves to use a wider range of magic, while the darji gain the ability to sense magic and a longer lifespan. The bond can be broken easily at any time, and indeed, they often switch bonds several times over a lifetime.
Name: Dormath
Race: Lantessaman Dragon
Gender: Male
Color: Glowing
Rain (Blue)
Parents: Obonixtenathramarth x Gwaith
Personality: Generally a
very friendly and outgoing dragon, Dormath would not be much help on Aitor's
hunts, not only because his glow is far too noticeable, but he simply doesn't
like to see anything--intelligent or not--in pain. He is very sweet and gets
along well with others, but he can be depressed easily, and Aitor's generally
not the best at cheering up.
Bond:
Aitor
Shirin was happy with her Plant Dragon egg, and the others had disappeared to
who knew where. Aitor was on his own for awhile. He didn't mind it. He was a cat
after all; he was solitary by nature. Then again, a dragon bond would be
interesting, and no doubt different from Shirin's.
He remembered the way to
the dragons' sands, where a green dragoness guarded a clutch of eggs. The heat
of the sands was to his liking, but the mother watched him from afar, and he
felt it prudent to keep his distance. He didn't know if she was aware he was
interested in becoming a candidate.
He didn't consider that many of the
Isle's inhabitants had no idea what a darji was. They got over it quickly,
though, and he guessed they had seen a lot of wierd stuff in this place. The
most important thing was being sure he could care for a baby dragon, but he
considered it wouldn't be too different from caring for a kitten (except on a
much larger scale), and even non-darji animals could take care of their charges
by themselves.
And anything he couldn't handle, he could probably get Shirin
to help. Or if not her, well, he was creative. And
persuasive.
