Personality: G'rant is a bright and friendly guy, though perhaps not quite as outgoing as he seems at first. To tell the truth, he is a very empathetic individual, to the point that it almost seems like he can read people's minds at times. He makes an effort to put people at ease, but his perceptiveness can sometimes make people uneasy. He is smart enough, but not the type who likes books, adn his reading and writing skills are subpar. He isn't nearly as enthused about music as the rest of his family--what he really wants to do is be the best dragonrider he can be!
Past: Gerant's mother was just an apprentice harper when she was seduced by another of her fellow apprentices. When she discovered she was pregnant, she decided to tell him, but he wasn't exactly the settling down type. The relationship was short-lived. Nonetheless, Gerant was raised within the harpercrafthall, joined by a younger sister from his mother when he was five. Though he has a continueing fondness for his younger sister, they were not particularly close growing up; Gerant spent all of his free time running around with the Holder children.
As he got older, he agreed to be apprenticed to the Harpercraft, since it seemed to be what his mother wanted. He was apathetic about the craft personally; what he really wanted to do was Impress a dragon, but barring a visit from a searchrider, that was out of the question, so he resigned himself to being a harper. The fact that his heart simply wasn't in it probably goes a long way to explain why he is still an apprentice harper. Finally, when he was twenty-one, the searchriders agreed to take him with them to Aneris Weyr; Gerant, though wishing it could have acome a few turns earlier, was ecstatic.

Personality: Much like his rider, Ortinith is approachable and enjoys spending time with other dragons. He is for the most part easy-going and undemanding, but he does have ambitions--not for rank, necessarily. He is an intelligent, clever dragon who is proud of his mind and always seeks to hone it, viewing knowledge as the path to power. As a result, he is very determined and focused on his tasks. He also has a very rigid, logical way of thinking that doesn't lend itself to fun or humor.
