Personality: Though on the surface complacent to her parents' wishes, Kurahny has always had a rebellious streak brewing deep inside her. She dislikes being told what to do and rarely respects someone in authority until they've proven themselves worthy of being listened to. She can be a little conceited, but she tries to be friendly. She can be kind of manipulative, though.
Past: Kurahny was raised in her father's Hold with her siblings, including her sister Gorgianne, but unlike her siblings, she was never as eager to do what she was told. She often snuck out to explore on her own when she was younger, despite her mother's wishes. As she got older, her parents thought they could curb her behavior by getting her betrothed to a powerful Holder. But despite his riches, Kurahny resented the fact that the choice of her husband had been taken out of her hands and she decided to run away.
It was only after the fact that she learned searchriders had come shortly after and taken her younger sister Gorgianne with them, and she could have kicked herself at missing that chance. She quickly made her way to Sedona Weyr to see Gorgianne, and while she was there, she convinced the searchriders to let her stand for the clutch as well. She fully expected to Impress the gold hatchling, but after seeing the gold pass her by entirely for another girl and with the hatching drawing to a close, she feared she would walk away unbonded and be sent back to the Hold. It was just as well that Tarchiath found her then, the very last dragon to Impress, and by that point, Kurahny was relieved just to have Impressed at all.
