Whoosh!
Daroth blew out a long spurt of red-gold flame. He yelped in
surprise and sat back on his haunches as A'jar laughed.
I flamed. The blue weyrling had a perplexed look
on his face.
"That's the idea, Daroth." A'jar grinned.
Daroth creeled and
swallowed another chunk of gray-green firestone. A green blur pushed him out of
the way as Kaaressa and Ohtarth arrived. Move over,
Daroth! I'm gonna flame, too!
A'jar and Kaaressa watched in
bemusement as the large green greedily chewed up the rocks while Daroth sulked.
As she blew out a stream of red-orange fire, Daroth said, Huh. I thought most greens didn't chew firestone,
anyway.
Ohtarth snorted at him. Only if
they want to clutch. Who cares about kids? I'd much rather be in the sky
fighting Thread than tending a clutch, anyway.
"Well, at least
that means I won't have to deal with a proddy green for a while, at least."
Kaaressa smiled.
A burst of flame and a yelp drew their attention to Daroth.
I bit my tongue! He cried as they
laughed.
