Kelduen
After
Kelduen had arrived in the Cathair, Kasmaar continued to grow. Finally, the blue
ceadra was full-grown, and also an adept flyer by now. The snakelike creature
chirped curiously as he stared at the prone form of his master, laying in his
bed.
Lythir also chirped, pulling Kelduen's blond hair in an effort to move
him. Kelduen woke, swatting at the starry flit as she chirped at him happily and
flew off. "Lythir? What?"
Kasmaar alighted on the boy's shoulder as he got up
and followed the flitter. Lythir hovered outside his room, and began to hum in a
low voice. Startled, Kelduen glanced down the halls, where people were gathering
towards the hatching sands.
The boy stood, confused. Why would people be
going to the hatching sands at this time? Unless...
Realizing why the starry
flitter was humming, Kelduen rushed towards the hatching sands with everyone
else. Shoving past a few people, he entered the sands to see the eggs rocking
slowly back and forth. He joined the rest of the candidates, casting
apprehensive glances at a few of them before turning back to the
eggs.
Finally, a small egg began to crack, and a teal-blue colored dragonet
lay sprawled on the sands. The hatchling made his way to his feet, rainbow eyes
flickering over the gathered candidates before he found his bond. The
hatchling's eyes locked with a pair of startled gray-green eyes. Lythir, who had
reappeared on the startled boy's shoulder, Chirped excitedly as the blue
hatchling raced to them, and the dragon's rainbow eyes, glanced up at
her.
You have
many little friends. Have you a place for me?I might take up more room,
but-
Kelduen just smiled and
shook his head. "Of course, Hoflichth!" He smiled again as he beckoned the
little dragon to the waiting
food.
