Kymis lay one her back, stroking Aderyn's neck. The brown fire lizard lay curled up on her stomach, and he began to hum in pleasure. She was just getting ready to get up and go to dinner, but Aderyn's excited humming made her stop. Taliesin was not present, as the gold-blue refused to leave the clutch of eggs she'd lain only Faranth-knew where, but Kymis was sure that her other fire lizard would also be humming. The fire lizard's clutch was nowhere close to hatching, but the only other clutch at the Weyr was...
Kymis jumped up, causing Aderyn to settle on her shoulder as she pulled on the white candidacy robe and raced to the hatching sands. The dragons were humming, which meant that the clutch was hatching!
Kymis stood by the rest of the candidates and looked at the proud parents of the clutch in wonder. The father was both black and brown; Kymis wondered whether any of the hatchlings would show similiar coloring. Then the first egg cracked, and Kymis was drawn back to the eggs.
The first egg split straight down the middle, and a small green dragon was left sitting in the sand. The female looked rather pleased with herself at being the first dragon to hatch. The hatchling regarded all the candidates evenly as Kymis held her breath, but another egg was hatching, and with a loud crack, a blue spilled onto the sands.
This seemed to spur the green dragon on, and she called out to her chosen.
My name is Quilreth.
Kymis frowned at hearing the voice, but then she realized that no one else had heard the green dragon, and she fell to her knees, reaching out to the green with one hand. "I'm dreaming." She whispered.
Quilreth just cocked her head, staring at her rider.
I'm hungry.
Kymis laughed. "Then let's go fix that." She said as she lead the dragon-
her dragon-off the sands.
Kymis looked up as her golden fire lizard screeched in anger as she took off. Sharding fire lizard was rising again. She put down the book she had been reading, marking her place in it, and watched the blue-winged beauty.
Taliesin screeched at her suitors again, and was answered by five fire lizards, three bronzes, a lone little blue, and a large brown. Kymis smiled. The brown had to be her own Aderyn. She knew the brown had been getting rather protective of the gold-blue queen.
She was a bit surprised to see a blue there, but the tiny fire lizard soon dropped to the ground, followed by one of the bronzes. It wasn't long before the flight was over, and Kymis smiled as she saw gold-blue twined with brown. She picked up her book again, and began to read.

Taliesin screeched crankily, eyes whirling red. Kymis just shook her head. "Silly wherry, why'd you rise, if it always makes you so cranky?" She said as she scratched the  eggheavy gold-blue's eyeridges. Taliesin responded by snapping at her hand.
"Hmmph. Fine then." Kymis said, and left her pregnant gold-blue queen to brood alone. Aderyn met her outside, perching on her shoulder. Kymis smiled. "Is she mad at you too, Aderyn?" Aderyn crooned as she stroked his head. His blue-green eyes whirled excitedly, and he chirped, staring at something in the sky, off to her right.
Kymis turned, and saw three dragons circling in the sky, a brown, blue, and green. She frowned, there must be a search going on. She wandered closer, curious to find out where they were from.
Three dragonriders climbed off their dragons, two males and a female. Kymis blinked, staring at the woman standing beside her large brown dragon, and the even larger blue dragon, almost the size of a bronze. Strange bunch, these three were. The oldest, the greenrider, walked up to her, followed by the brown rider, obviously a relative of his, from their resemblence.
The greenrider smiled as he shook her hand. "Hello, I'm C'fron, on green Trith. This is my daughter, Cris," He motioned to the female brownrider. That explained the family resemblence. "And her brown Tusath. And he is Ar'wen, with blue Camoth. We're searchriders from Seiryuu Weyr. We're here looking for candidates for Vazilth's clutch."
Kymis smiled. "Pleased to meet you, dragonriders." She said as she nodded at them.
The bluerider cocked his head, listening to his large blue dragon. He grinned and looked at her. "Camoth says you may be to stand. Will you come with us?"
Kymis blinked in surprise. "Really?" As the man nodded, she grinned happily. "Of course I'll stand!"

Kymis shuddered from the back of the blue dragon as they came out of
between. She gasped as she stared down at the Weyrbowl below her. "It's-It's shaped like a dragon!"
Ar'wen grinned in front of her. "Yeah, weird freak of nature, I guess." He said, and shrugged. "Hold on tight!" He yelled to her as Camoth backwinged, and landed neatly on the ground. Releasing her grip on the flight straps, she gently slid to the ground.
She looked at the Weyr around her in awe. Aderyn chirped as he popped out of
between, followed closely by Taliesin, her belly now quite round with eggs. The brown hovered around her quite protectively as the gold-blue dropped wearily to the ground. Kymis rolled her eyes. "You shouldn't be going between, you're too eggheavy." She whispered to the gold-blue as she picked her up. Taliesin just crooned from the girl's arms.
Still carrying the blue-winged queen flit, Kymis followed C'fron, who led her to see the eggs. "But don't touch them!" He told her as they entered.
Kymis gasped when she saw the eleven smooth ovals lying in the sand. A brooding green dragon lay curled around her clutch of eggs, guarded by a large brown dragon. She crooned at her mate, and turned her slowly swirling eyes to Kymis, staring at the dragons in awe.
"Those are the parents." C'fron said. "Green Vazilth and Brown Doroboth."
Kymis smiled. "They're beautiful." She said. And dearly hoped that she would Impress.
